University of Ghana law school Requirements

  • The minimum requirements for the Bachelor of Laws (LLB) degree include obtaining credit passes in English, Core Mathematics, Integrated Science, and Social Studies. Additionally, credit passes in any three elective subjects are also required.

For the Post-First-Degree LL.B. Special Programme, the least qualification required is a Second Class (Lower Division) Degree in any field from a university that is recognized and/or accredited by the Ghana Tertiary Education Commission (GTEC).

Undergraduate UG Law: How to Apply

  1. Initiate the UG Legon Admission Application Process by purchasing an e-voucher from authorized banks nationwide if you haven’t done so yet.
  2. If you are a Ghanaian applicant, proceed to the official UG Legon First Degree Law Admission Portal: https://apply.ug.edu.gh/admissions/undergrad/login.
  3. If you are an international student, navigate to the official UG Legon First Degree Law Admission Portal for international applicants: https://apply.ug.edu.gh/admissions/iundergrad/login.
  4. Subsequently, you will be directed to the login page.
  5. Input your serial number and pin located on the e-voucher card you purchased. (Ensure to keep the card secure for future logins)
  6. Click the login button to commence filling the Online UG Legon admission application form in stages.
  7. Fill out the Application form and attach all necessary documents and a passport picture (must be in JPG or JPEG format and not exceed 20KB).
  8. Upon completion of the Online UG Legon admission application form, select the ‘Preview’ or ‘Accept’ button to either review the information you provided or confirm them.
  9. You also have the option to click on the ‘Edit button’ to modify your application or select the ‘Save and Continue later button’ to save your application form and return at a later time to complete the application.
  10. Once content with all the details you have provided, select ‘Submit and Print Confirmation’ to finalize the online application form.
  11. Subsequently, click the ‘Print’ button to print your Confirmation Page/filled online application form.
  12. Remember to keep the card secure for future logins and maintain your printed Confirmation Page as you will need your Reference Number displayed on the page to verify your admission status and print your admission letter.
  13. After printing the Confirmation Page/filled online application form, select the “Log out” button.”

Post First Degree Law: How to Apply

  1. Start the UG Legon Admission Application Process by buying an e-voucher from approved banks nationwide if you haven’t already done so.
  2. Visit the official UG Legon Postgraduate Law Admission Portal: https://apply.ug.edu.gh/admissions/graduate/login.
  3. If you’re an international student, go to the official UG Legon Postgraduate Law Admission Portal for international applicants: https://apply.ug.edu.gh/admissions/igraduate/login.
  4. You will then be taken to the login page.
  5. Enter your serial number and pin from the e-voucher card you bought. (Remember to keep the card for future logins)
  6. Click the login button to start filling out the Online UG Legon admission application form step by step.
  7. Complete the Application form and attach all necessary documents and a passport photo (must be in JPG or JPEG format and not exceed 20KB).
  8. Once you’ve filled out the Online UG Legon admission application form, click the ‘Preview’ or ‘Accept’ button to either review your entries or confirm them.
  9. You can also click the ‘Edit button’ to make changes to your application or click the ‘Save and Continue later button’ to save your application form and return later to finish the application.
  10. If you’re happy with all the details you’ve provided, click ‘Submit and Print Confirmation’ to finalize the online application form.
  11. Then, click the ‘Print’ button to print your Confirmation Page/filled online application form.
  12. Don’t forget to keep the card for future logins and keep your printed Confirmation Page safe as you will need your Reference Number on the page to check your admission status and print your admission letter.
  13. After printing the Confirmation Page/filled online application form, click the “Log out” button.”
