UG Pent Hall fees and How to apply for Accommodation?

The Pentagon Hostel, fondly referred to as Pent Hall, is a privately managed hostel situated within the University of Ghana, Legon campus. It comprises both old and new sections. The old Pent sections include Nairobi, Kampala, Darul Salam, and Addis Ababa, while the new Pent sections are categorized as Block A, B, and C.

The rooms in the new pent sections are more contemporary compared to those in the old pent sections. The hostel is arguably the most renowned accommodation located at the Northern part of the University of Ghana campus.

For those interested in securing accommodation at the African Union Hall, commonly known as Pent, the online application portal is typically opened during a specific period. After academic registration, the expression of interest should be done via the UG Student Portal.

UG Pent Hall Fees

The Pentagon Hostel, popularly known as Pent Hall, at the University of Ghana has different fees depending on the type of room. The fees for the 2023/2024 academic year are as follows:

  • For Ghanaian Students:
  • 1 in 1 AC Large (New Pent): GHS 24,362.00
  • 1 in 1 AC Small (New Pent): GHS 21,820.00
  • 1 in 1 No AC (New Pent): GHS 17,908.00
  • 2 in 1 AC (New Pent): GHS 15,489.00
  • 2 in 1 No AC (New Pent): GHS 10,185.00
  • 4 in 1 No AC (New Pent): GHS 8,258.00
  • 2 in a Room Shared (Old Pent): GHS 5,313.00
  • 4 in a Room Shared (Old Pent): GHS 4,928.00

For International Students:

  • Single Room with AC (New Pent): GHS 35,320.00
  • 2 in 1 Room with AC (New Pent): GHS 22,080.00
  • 2 in 1 Room without AC (New Pent): GHS 17,456.00
  • 4 in 1 Room (New Pent): GHS 15,896.00
  • 2 in 1 Room without AC (Shared, Old Pent): GHS 9,576.00
  • 4 in a Room (Shared, Old Pent): GHS 8,576.00

How to apply for Accommodation

To apply for accommodation at the Pentagon Hostel, follow these steps:

  1. Visit the official UG Student Portal.
  2. Log in using your UG Student ID Number and UG 5-digit PIN.
  3. Select a Hall of choice and a room of your choice.
  4. If successful, print out your Room Allocation Letter and follow the instructions provided.

Please be aware that accommodation is not guaranteed as available beds will be allocated through a random system. Therefore, it’s advisable to promptly consider other housing options if you are not assigned on-campus accommodation.
